Secondary Art Teacher - Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Teaching Personnel work with an incredible school in Littlehampton, that is dedicated to providing exceptional learning experiences for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). They specialise in catering to children with autism, ADHD, challenging behaviour, and other unique learning requirements. Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary Art Teacher with a strong background in working with children with SEN. The ideal candidate will have expertise in addressing the diverse needs of students with autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour, while also possessing a deep understanding of the secondary art curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality art lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and personal growth.
  • Utilise innovative teaching methods and adaptive strategies to engage students with diverse learning styles and abilities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience teaching art to secondary students with SEN, particularly those with autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
  • In-depth knowledge of the secondary art curriculum and proficiency in adapting curriculum materials to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Strong understanding of various SEN strategies, interventions, and accommodations, with a focus on promoting inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with SEN.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities and support for career advancement.
  • A positive and supportive work environment dedicated to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and student success.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
