Would you be able to teach Art up to GCSE level to secondary aged students on the autistic spectrum?
A highly accredited and successful school based in Hillingdon require an experienced fully qualified teacher to cover maternity for a minim of two school terms. The role is to start in September 2019 with a high likelihood of continuing until July 2020.
You are required to be a fully qualified teacher with experience teaching Art to secondary aged pupils, the school will also accept applications from NQTs.
Art is a big part of the semi-formal curriculum used within the school which focuses on non-academic skills. This is a role where you can be creative and innovative in your lesson plans while being specific to each pupil's needs and areas of development.
The details of the role:
- You will work as an Art teacher teaching a small class of pupils across KS3 and KS4 with autism
- You would work full-time Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5pm on average
- You will be working in an outstanding school in Uxbridge with a range of career opportunities
- You would be required to prepare, deliver and mark Art lessons/activities up to GCSE level
- You would also be required to work collaboratively with senior leadership, teachers, staff and parents to deliver effective lessons
