Alternative Provision Teacher (KS3–KS4)

Two sites: Northampton (NN1) and Thrapston (NN14)

Start Date: 1st March

Are you a passionate and resilient educator committed to transforming the lives of young people?

We are seeking a dedicated Alternative Provision Teacher to support KS3–KS4 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across our two sites in Northampton and Thrapston.

About the Role

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs

  • Support students with SEMH challenges to re-engage with learning

  • Build positive, professional relationships that promote trust and consistency

  • Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, SENCOs, families, and external agencies

  • Contribute to behaviour support plans and EHCP targets

About Our Students

Our learners are KS3–KS4 pupils who may have:

  • SEMH needs

  • Gaps in education due to exclusion or disrupted schooling

  • EHCPs or identified additional needs

Small class sizes allow you to make a genuine impact every day.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)

  • Has experience working with SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision settings

  • Has Secondary Teaching experience

  • Demonstrates strong behaviour management with a nurturing approach

  • Is resilient, patient, and committed to inclusive practice

  • Can adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
