Teacher – Alternative Provision (KS3–KS4)

Location: Thrapston area, NN14

Salary: 130-180 per day (ECT-UPS)

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to make a real difference in young people’s lives? We are seeking a dedicated Teacher to join an Alternative Provision setting in the Thrapston area, supporting Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils who require a more tailored and supportive approach to education.

About the Role

You will work with small groups of pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream settings. The role involves delivering engaging, differentiated lessons while supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges
  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, families, and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with KS3–KS4 pupils
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
  • Experience in alternative provision, SEN, or PRU settings (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
