ADHD support teaching assistant -Bury

A large mainstream primary school in the Radcliffe, Bury area is currently looking for a teaching assistant to support a pupil with ADHD on a 1:1 basis in the schools Year 5 class. The pupil has been struggling to engage in lesson times and has shown challenging behaviour in the class room. The Head teacher is looking for a teaching assistant to support them in the class room and in 1:1 interventions outside the class room raising attainment in English and Maths.

A large part of this role will be engaging with the people and building their confidence and supporting their emotional development to help with their overall progress in the class room. The successful candidate will be patient and nurturing and have previous experience working with children with special educational needs.

This is a large Bury primary school and is warm and welcoming and promotes an inclusive community ethos. This role will be highly rewarding for the successful candidate and staff will be supported by a strong senior leadership and has recently been graded as 'Good' in its latest Ofsted report.

The role will more than likely start on the 9th September 2019 and the successful candidate will carry on working with the pupil until the end of the academic year. Due to the nature of the role and the support the pupil needs, there is a possibility of this role carrying on in September.
