Academic Mentor
Join an excellent secondary school in Manchester seeking to appoint an Academic Mentor on a full-time basis from September 2021. We welcome applications from graduates of English, Maths and Science and any applicants with experience mentoring secondary aged students.
Responsibilities of the role will involve:
- To work with students in identified lessons to help them improve their knowledge, skills and confidence.
- To deliver learning activities and intervention outside of the classroom.
- To work with small groups of students outside of lesson times. (break, lunch and after school)
- To produce learning resources that students can access in school and from home.
- To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students and to report any safeguarding or child protection concerns through the school’s reporting procedures.
This popular and vibrant multi-cultural secondary school is located in the heart of the city centre. The school offers a rich and varied curriculum for all students and has state of the art facilities with a brand new purpose built building. Due to it’s inner city location, the school welcomes students from a variety of background and cultures making it an inclusive learning environment for all.
The school is easily accessible from the city centre and surrounding areas and for those who drive; the school has a large car park accessible for all staff members.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
