I am currently recruiting for 3 Teaching Assistants to start in September on a one-year fixed post. At the end of this year the school will offer you the option to stay on with a school contract.

The school have expressed all 3 successful candidates must feel confident in challenging situations as the pupils you work with will all be from varying backgrounds and have some form of additional needs that will need to be supported. These roles will be a great test of your behaviour management and relationship building skills as you will need to be adaptable when working with new students who often find it tough to integrate into mainstream secondary school. Within this role you will have a mixture of one-to-one work where you will be supporting an individual pupil throughout their lessons and from time to time you will also be asked to support the whole class which usually consists of around 10 pupils.

Have you got any experience working with multiple young people at once in a coaching, classroom or setting that means you have had to divide your attention while remaining focussed on the task at hand? If so, we would love to hear from you to discuss how we can move forward with your application.

You do not need to have a background directly working with special needs or challenging behaviour however you do need to have a positive attitude to supporting young people with additional learning needs. This will be your key to success and the school have stated that having the right personality is key to getting the best from the pupils.

To be considered for this role or to find out about other schools we are supporting then please get in touch by sending through your CV today.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
