2x Teaching Assistants Required (S72)

A Headteacher from a school located in Barnsley, S72, is seeking TWO experienced Teaching Assistants on a part-time basis for the next academic year. You will work approximately 27.5 hours per week, specialising in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs. You will work continually on a 1:1 and small group basis, so if you have experience in supporting SEN pupils and have a a real passion for making a difference, then this is the role for you.

The job role:

  • You will work under the instruction/guidance of the teacher and other senior staff members, to ensure the care and support of the pupils
  • You will help enable access to learning for the pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of their classroom
  • Will involve work within the classroom and outside the main teaching area
  • Working in a well respected primary school in the heart of the community
  • Excellent transport links
  • Supporting class teacher within a strong senior team

You will:

  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Have a Level 2/3 NVQ for teaching assistants or equivalent, or have relevant work experience
  • Training or experience in relevant learning strategies
  • Be engaging, have a positive attitude and provide
  • Shown initiative and be confident to get involved in all areas of the school
  • Have experience in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs
