2 x SEN TAs required in the Truro area, immediate start

Date posted : 03/11/17
£50.44 per day + weekly pay

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel are working with a large mainstream Primary school in the Truro area who require additional SEN support. We are looking for applications from teaching assistants with extensive experience in supporting a wide range of special educational needs in a primary setting.

Both roles will be based in KS2 and will require 1:1 support for severe ASD and ADHD. We are looking for candidates with a great deal of patience and compassion who can confidently manage challenging behaviour and ensure that pupils are staying focused and on task at all times. Due to the nature of the needs of the pupils, we would ideally need candidates who can manage occasional violent behaviour, so Team Teach training would be desirable but not essential.

Teaching Personnel have a great CPD academy that boasts a wide range of SEN based courses, available to all registered candidates. If you have some SEN experience but feel like you would suit this role, please contact us to arrange an interview so we can assess your suitability and discuss the courses to prepare you for the position.

This school is larger than average and has had a recent intake of several students who require additional support. We need candidates to be flexible as students are often excluded meaning that timetables are moved around regularly allowing the school to maximise utilisation of additional funding. Once you are registered with Teaching Personnel, you will have full access to our supply work so please be assured that we can find you work in other schools on days you are not needed. We are currently advertising these roles as temporary but permanent contracts may be offered once funding is confirmed.

We look forward to hearing from you if you are looking for a new challenge in a busy and exciting primary school!

Teaching Personnel are committed to safeguarding in schools and require all candidates to hold or apply for a Child Workforce Only DBS check registered to the update service. Teaching Personnel will solely handle your vetting for this role for successful applicants.
