Job description

Teaching Personnel specialises in intervention and tuition services, in particular for disengaged young people, for those in care, or excluded students. There is a particularly high demand for Teaching Assistants to deliver tuition of core subjects (Maths, English and Science) within the centres, the homes, libraries or local community centres. All work will be prepared in advance to then be worked through with the students.

If you're a recent graduate looking to start a career in teaching, or an experienced TA looking for a new challenge, then we have the perfect opportunity for you. As a tutor, you will be providing help and support to pupils who are struggling to access the curriculum, helping to bridge the gaps in attainment levels and manging behaviour difficulties.

These tutoring opportunities will mostly take place during school hours, at a suitable learning environment. We will match the tutoring work opportunities as best as possible with your availability and location.

Responsibilities will include

  • Aiding students through creative pre-planned activities
  • Motivating students by showing enthusiasm and creativity
  • Undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/learning programmes
  • Passing feedback to teachers about children's development
  • Working with LAC students who may present with challenging behaviour
  • The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about working with children and engaging them in their studies.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
