Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant on behalf of a larger than average Primary School in Preston. The SENCO has approached our agency to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work alongside a young boy in Y3 who has recently been granted an EHCP. His behaviour is sometimes challenging and he requires a calm natured practitioner to ensure he is on task and a strict routine is met. This young boy is a high attaining pupil however he struggles socially. This is a 1:1 role working 5.5 hours per day 5 days per week from November until the end of the academic year. Behaviour is generally Good in School and the SENCO has provided us with a checklist to filter the appropriate candidate:
The successful candidate will have:
- Must have experience of working alongside children within the last 12 months.
- Experience working alongside children with a variety of learning needs such as ASC, Asperger's and ADHD.
- Experience supporting small groups with Speech and Language and Phonics.
- A genuine passion for maximising attainment and making a difference in the classroom.
- Excellent behaviour management and a calm, 'firm but fair' approach.
- A positive attitude and the ability to liaise with parents.
Teaching Personnel are able to offer competitive rates of pay and provide each of our candidates with a dedicated consultant who will provide 24/7 support. In the Lancashire Office, the Primary Team is made up of four experienced Recruitment Consultants who will endeavour to find you suitable work in your area. We also have a team of Secondary Recruitment Consultants as well as a Team working alongside SEN Schools across Lancashire therefore we have a constant flow of vacancies.
