Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support – Full-Time – Cardiff
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Pay: £89.38 per day
Contract: Full academic year (until July 2026)
We’re currently working with a fantastic secondary school in Cardiff who are looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant from September. This role involves providing dedicated one-to-one support for a Year 11 pupil with additional learning needs, and will run for the full academic year through to July 2026.

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working closely with a Year 11 student on a 1:1 basis, helping them to access the curriculum, stay engaged in lessons and reach their full potential. You’ll work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to adapt resources, monitor progress and provide both academic and emotional support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting a Year 11 pupil with additional learning needs on a 1:1 basis
- Assisting with class activities and adapting resources as needed
- Helping to manage behaviour and encourage positive engagement
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and building confidence
- Working closely with teaching staff and SEN specialists
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, caring and confident working with young people. Experience supporting children with additional needs is helpful, but not essential – the right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
Successful applicants will have:
- A passion for education and dedication and willingness to support pupils with a range of needs
- Transferable social and communication skills from previous employment or hobbies
- Commitment to completing all required training courses promptly
- An enhanced DBS check on the update service (guidance will be given)
- Registered with the EWC (guidance will be given)
- Provide 2 references
- Able to travel to the Cardiff area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
