Job description

1:1 SEN Tutor
Location: Nottingham (NG13 and surrounding areas)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised, high-quality tutoring to a pupil with SEN, either at home, in school, or in a community setting.

  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans, adapting resources and strategies to suit the student’s learning style and abilities.

  • Support the student in developing both academic and life skills, fostering confidence and independence.

  • Monitor progress and regularly update parents/carers and relevant professionals with clear, constructive feedback.

  • Maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN, including (but not limited to) ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or learning difficulties.

  • A relevant teaching or tutoring qualification.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships based on trust and respect.

  • Flexibility, creativity, and a genuine passion for helping young people thrive.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
