1:1 SEN Tutor
Location: Nottinghamshire (NG15)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tutor to join our supportive team. The successful candidate will work closely with a student on a tailored programme, providing personalised academic support and promoting their emotional and social development.
As a 1:1 SEN Tutor, you will be responsible for adapting teaching methods to suit the student’s individual learning needs, supporting them to reach their full potential in a positive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one tutoring for a student with specific learning needs.

Develop personalised lesson plans and resources to support the student’s learning and development.

Assist with academic subjects, focusing on the student’s strengths and areas for improvement.

Monitor and track the student’s progress, making adjustments to teaching methods as required.

Build a strong, trusting relationship with the student to support their emotional and social well-being.
-
Communicate regularly with other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to the student’s development.

Ensure the student feels confident, motivated, and engaged in their learning process.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
-
A relevant qualification in education (e.g., PGCE, teaching assistant qualification, or SEN-specific qualification).

A strong understanding of different learning difficulties and strategies for supporting SEN students.
-
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students and their families.

Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
-
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
