1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

A mainstream primary School, located in Newham, is looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with one of their primary-aged learners with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. A candidate who is looking for a role that is challenging yet rewarding, will benefit immensely from an opportunity like this, as there is potential for the role to become long-term and permanent.

Role Requirements:

• Experience of supporting young people with challenging behaviour and or SEMH, social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
• Aware of the procedure with regards to safeguarding in a school environment.
• Reliable and Punctual
• Open-minded, positive and friendly approach.
• Ability to develop rapport with the learners and staff within a School
• Enthusiastic, patient and calm, with a desire to get the best out of the learners you work with
• Ability to deal with the physical challenges of the job

This role is ideal for a candidate who is looking to progress with a school based career, possibly leading to teaching in the future.

What you will need:

• An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service.
• Have the Right to Work in the UK.
• 2 Graded References from previous employers.
