1:1 SEN Specialist - Thorpe

School based In Thorpe are searching for a Teaching Assistant or Support Staff to fill a position that has become available in the New Year. The school caters for students aged 2-19 years with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). Pupils at the school may have additional sensory impairments, physical difficulties or challenging behaviour. At the last Ofsted the school received a 'Good' overall rating.

The role will be based in a class of 5 primary students and will involve both one-to-one and group work with the pupils. The pupils in the class all have Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and the majority are on the Autistic spectrum (ASD). The pupils are physically active and may show some challenging behaviour. To support the pupils the class has one teacher and two other teaching assistants, you will be the fourth member of the team.

The ideal candidate will be active and sporty as the children enjoy being outdoors and playing games. The role will vary day to day, with long walks and trips to the shops being a vital part of the learning experience. The school are looking for someone who can make a real difference in the children's lives, someone who is robust while also of a caring nature would be ideal.
