1:1 Functional Skills Tutor

Location: Worksop (S80)

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions focused on Functional Skills English, Maths, and/or ICT.

• Assess learners' current abilities and create individualised learning plans.

• Track learners' progress and provide constructive feedback.

• Encourage learner engagement, building confidence and motivation.

• Provide support with exam preparation, coursework, and assessment.

• Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the learner’s preferred learning style.

• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports learner success.

Essential Criteria:

• Relevant qualification in teaching or tutoring.

• Strong knowledge of Functional Skills English, Maths, and/or ICT curriculum.

• Previous experience teaching or tutoring.

• Ability to create engaging and effective learning resources.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patient, empathetic, and dedicated to supporting learners' individual needs.

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
