A specialist Provision situated in Oldham are currently looking for a Youth Worker to start in January 2020. The ideal Youth Worker will have experience in a PRU, residential home, SEMH School or significant personal experience supporting vulnerable people.

The Setting is based in Oldham around 10 minutes from the centre. The Setting is a Specialist Provision which caters for Secondary aged pupils with SEMH needs. Due to the nature of the needs of the pupils who attend the Setting the School would prefer applicants who have experience working within similar environments. For example experience in a PRU or Residential Setting would be desirable but not essential. For applicants who apply and have experience in a personal capacity this will also be looked upon favourably.

Due to the nature of the needs of the pupils who attend the Setting they can sometimes display signs of volatile behaviour, so ideally the succesful applicant will have very strong behaviour management skills. 

 

The ideal Youth Worker will have:

- Experience in a PRU or SEMH Setting

- A passion for supporting all pupils regardless of their needs in achieving their full potential

- Competent in supporting pupils with English and Maths GCSE

- The ability to build positive working relationships with pupils and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
