Youth Worker Required - *ST HELENS*

Experienced Youth or Community Support Worker to work in a Mainstream Primary School.

Working knowledge of meeting the emotional, social and mental health of young people.

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an experienced Youth Worker for employment in an established Primary School in ST HELENS. The post is to start as soon as possible and you will be required to work during term time with the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff.

The school deals with pupils who tend to arrive in school from a range of challenging backgrounds and sometimes from socio-economically disadvantaged homes. Pupils often need a calm presence to work with them 1:1 who has patience and guidance skills. The ability to work within a team is KEY to this role, as you will work closely with your colleagues to create action plans for students across Key Stages 1 and 2, taking an active role in implementing a programme that positively encourages learners to overcome barriers to learning, improve their skills and ultimately gain academic success.

Core subject knowledge in Maths and English is advantageous as you may be required to assist pupils with reading and writing skills; as is the ability to manage challenging behaviour.
