Exciting Opportunity for a Youth Worker at a Primary School in Lancaster!

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives? Do you have a knack for building relationships and creating a safe, supportive environment where children can thrive? We are working on behalf of a warm and welcoming primary school in Lancaster, seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join their supportive team.

They understand the importance of addressing the emotional, social, and developmental needs of our pupils, and are looking for someone who shares this commitment. This larger-than-average primary school have a dynamic and diverse community, and need someone who can help ensure that all children have the opportunity to succeed, both academically and personally.

Role & Responsibilities: As our new Youth Worker, you will be working closely with children who may need additional support, particularly in terms of social, emotional, and behavioral development. Your role will include:

  • Providing individual and group support to students, helping them build confidence and resilience.
  • Running tailored interventions for children with specific emotional or behavioral needs.
  • Supporting children in developing positive relationships with their peers and adults.
  • Assisting teachers in promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Helping students to engage with learning and develop life skills that will serve them beyond the classroom.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure each child’s needs are met.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passionate and empathetic individual with experience in working with children, ideally in a school or youth setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and adults.
  • A proactive, solution-focused attitude, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • An understanding of the challenges some children may face and the desire to support them in overcoming these barriers.
  • A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all students.
  • The ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
