About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in the CF5 area of Cardiff. This is a part-time position (3 days per week), ideal for a teacher who is passionate about early learning and enjoys helping children develop both academically and socially during their first years in school.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, creative lessons that inspire curiosity and a love of learning, while also maintaining a nurturing classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Welsh Curriculum.

Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that supports the diverse needs of pupils.

Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, providing feedback and next steps for learning.

Work collaboratively with other members of staff to share best practice and contribute to the wider school community.

Support pupils with additional learning needs, ensuring all learners are included and challenged appropriately.

Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues to foster strong home–school partnerships.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (preferably Year 1).

A positive and reflective practitioner who is passionate about early education.

Strong classroom management and a nurturing approach.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

A creative mindset and ability to adapt teaching to meet individual pupil needs.

Up-to-date knowledge of the Welsh Curriculum and current educational practices.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
