Teaching Assistant (Year 6)
Salary: £13.50 – £14.50 an hour
Contract: Full Time
Start Date: September 2025

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and motivated Teaching Assistant to support our Year 6 class. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education to help make a real difference in the lives of our pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

This Primary School is a warm, inclusive and forward-thinking school located in the heart of Wythenshawe. We are proud of our supportive staff, enthusiastic pupils and strong links with our local community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with the Year 6 teacher to support learning across the curriculum
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of engaging and effective lessons
  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, particularly in English and Maths
  • Support children emotionally and socially, helping to promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Contribute to assessment and the monitoring of pupil progress
  • Be committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with Key Stage 2 children, ideally in Year 6
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is enthusiastic, adaptable and a team player
  • Understands the importance of high expectations and supporting children to achieve their full potential
  • Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
