Year 5 Teaching Assistant

One of our partner Primary schools, located in Canton, are looking to appoint a 1:1 teaching assistant to their Year 5 class from September 2020 on a part time basis (mornings only), to support a male pupil with ADHD.
Duties included but not limited to:
- Providing academic, social and emotional support to the pupil in question
- Facilitating the integration of the pupil amongst the class and the rest of the school
- Assisting the class teacher with tasks set with said pupil along with the rest of the class
- Preparing the classroom for a lesson
- Occasionally working with other pupils in small groups
- Putting together displays of children’s work
- Working closely with Teachers and Teaching Assistants alike to plan efficiently for the class and the department alike
Minimum requirements to be considered for this role:
- To have previously worked with children and/or young adults with learning difficulties (preferably ADHD)
- A strong passion to enhance the development of pupils with learning difficulties
- An adaptable approach (nurturing and caring as well as firm when required)
- A positive resilient attitude
- Be registered with the EWC (assistance provided)
- Hold a current Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service (assistance provided)
Employment details:
Salary: Up to GBP70.00 per day depending on experience and qualifications
Contract type: Temporary with the possibility to turn Permanent
Working days: Mondays to Fridays term time only, with the opportunity to work on a supply basis for the rest of the week for candidates looking for more hours
Working hours: 8:30am to 12pm
