Year 5 Intervention Teacher

-          Preston (PR5)

-          English and Maths Intervention Teacher

-          Full-time, temporary vacancy

-          GBP100 - GBP140 per day

The Head Teacher and Key Stage 2 Lead of an Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ primary school in Preston (PR5) are looking to appoint an experienced Primary Teacher/ Tutor to deliver catch-up intervention sessions for the Year 5 pupils in school. These will be based upon the results of classroom-based assessments undertaken in Reading, Grammar, Writing and Maths. The position has arisen due to the partial closure of schools and is planned to start from as soon as schools reopens to full capacity and continue until the end of the academic year. It is a full-time position and you will be seen as part of the teaching team of staff.

To be considered for the role, you must hold the following:

-          Level 3 education-based qualification or above

-          Prior experience of either teaching in upper KS2, or providing tuition to Y5/6 pupils (1 year +)

-          Prior experience of providing English and Maths intervention sessions/tuition

-          Excellent subject knowledge in the subject areas to be taught

-          Strategies to engage and motivate learners

The school is a reputable primary school that is well supported by Governors, a strong leadership team and parents. Pupil behaviour is ‘good’ and the majority of the children demonstrate a keen attitude to learning.

The closing date for this role will be 5th March 2021 (this may be extended if schools reopen to full capacity at a later date). The Head Teacher would like to see CVs in the first instance and then meet short-listed candidate via video call.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
