A large community academy in North Manchester are looking to employ an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for an immediate with their Year 4 class. The teaching assistant of choice will be expected to support the class teacher in a general capacity with the day to day duties such as preparation of resources, behaviour management and support of the lower ability pupils within the classroom. During the morning as part of your job role you will be expected to take small intervention groups and deliver the pre-planned session by the teacher in Literacy and Numeracy. The group will be of mixed ability so the work will need to be adapted to stretch the higher ability, but also be accessible for the lower ability within the group to ensure a steady progression is made throughout. All levels of Teaching Assistant with recent school based experience are encouraged to apply

The school in question is large in size and boasts a good reputation in the local community with pupils of all abilities said to surpass their expected levels of progress when joining the school in Early Years. The school is two form entry throughout and has a principal and three assistants who are responsible for each key stage and how each key stage is run and this also helps for staff to know who to report in to when needed. The school is 100% EAL with pupils entering the school at varying ability when it comes to speaking the language but the school is well equipped at dealing with this so by the time the pupils get to KS1 they are almost fully fluent. Behaviour in the school is 'impeccable' according to other members of staff with pupils said to be 'respectful of their peers as well as the adults in school'.
