Do you have experience delivering the National Curriculum to children across KS2 working alongside children with challenging behaviour and special educational needs?

The School:

The governors of a welcoming Rochester school are hoping to source nothing less than an INSPIRATIONAL Teacher to take on a full time class teaching role in Year 4.

In order to be considered, teachers must be:

  1. An outstanding and inspirational classroom practitioner who can consistently deliver high quality teaching and learning in an engaging way.
  2. Has experience delivering the National Curriculum to children across KS2.
  3. High expectations of pupil's achievements and behaviour.
  4. The ability to display experience of working alongside children for whom English is an additional language.
  5. Has knowledge and experience of working alongside children who have Special Educational Needs.
  6. Displays an enthusiasm for working in partnership with the SLT, governors, parents and the wider community.
  7. Has a commitment to developing his//her own professional skills.

The school is located in a socially deprived area of Medway, and has great transport links. It is a larger than average setting, which is currently going through a transition period and expecting to improve dramatically over the next twelve months. This is a larger than average Primary School therefore the planning responsibilities will be shared alongside a partner teacher. The school have implemented a number of short term behaviour strategies which have improved particular children and made the role of the general class teaching a lot more manageable. The school do have plans to consistently use a behaviour policy which the children respond to; this will need to be implemented from day one.

The Role:

The role will be to work on a full time basis starting from September 2019. The position will begin on a supply basis with a temp-perm option. In this role you will also be expected to undertake the full teaching role; planning, delivering and assessing the children in line with the local framework and the National Curriculum. You will therefore need to hold a strong subject knowledge in all curriculum areas especially in Maths, Reading and Writing. The school have also mentioned that they may be looking for a member of staff who is a specialist in Mathematics, preferably somebody with experience of co-ordinating or leading the subject across school. This is not a necessity to apply or be successful in the role!

The pay and working hours:

The pay for this role will be determined by experience and level of teaching during your time in school. It is expected to fall within the bracket of £100 - £190 per day, based on a 6.5 hour working day. To confirm also, this is a full time role beginning from September 2019.

How to apply:

To apply for this role, you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. You must also be experienced in KS2 and be prepared and committed to raising standards in the classroom. The school will also be looking for a practitioner who is happy to mix with the current staffing team and become 'part of the furniture'.
