Job Title: Year 3 Class Teacher
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Whelley, Wigan (WN1)
Pay Rate: Pay-To-Scale (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
A welcoming and ambitious primary school in the Whelley area of Wigan is seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 3 Teacher to join their team from September 2025.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver creative and engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Lower Key Stage 2 (Year 3).
- Plan, deliver, and assess learning effectively, adapting to meet the needs of all pupils.
- Promote high standards of behaviour and encourage independence, curiosity, and resilience in young learners.
- Track pupil progress and use assessment data to inform future teaching.
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and support a positive, inclusive school culture.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 3.
- Strong understanding of the Lower Key Stage 2 curriculum and assessment expectations.
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies.
- Ability to motivate, inspire, and support all learners.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
- Experience teaching Year 3 curriculum content, including transition from Key Stage 1.
- Knowledge of SEND and strategies for effective inclusion.
- Familiarity with supporting pupils in developing independence, stamina, and key learning skills in lower KS2.
- Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities or curriculum enrichment.
