Year 3 Teacher
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
A school in LS16 have contacted Teaching Personnel as they require a Year 3 teacher for the entirety of the summer term 2020. If you satisfy the following requirements set out by the school then this role could be ideal for you.
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Experience teaching in KS2
- Good behaviour managment
- Available full-time from Easter onwards
The current class teacher is being moved to another KS2 class at Easter as another teacher is leaving the school. As things stand, the school need someone to cover for the summer term, but there is a strong chance this could be made permanent depending on the candidate’s success in the role. It is a 2-form entry Catholic Primary school who were rated as GOOD by Ofsted when last inspected three years ago. Behaviour in the school has recently greatly improved, but only with a strict behaviour management policy that is enforced by every member of staff in the school. Therefore, it is imperative that the candidate in question has experience in effectively dealing with challenging behaviour through a no tolerance stance on misbehaviour. The SLT see this is as an opportunity to recruit a talented new member of the staff to continue the school’s improvement, as the successful candidate is likely to be kept on at the school in some capacity.
The role
The priority for the SLT is to recruit someone familiar with teaching the KS2 curriculum, as this is essential when handling the step from KS1. The school would prefer an experienced teacher who has taught across multiple KS2 year-groups. The Headteacher is extremely keen to get a talented teacher in who can improve the progress scores in Lower KS2, as whilst their exam results have improved in recent years there is still a persistent drop-off in the middle year groups. They believe this has held the school back in terms of their KS2 SATs results, so in depth knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and a track record of good progress scores would be ideal.
To apply
If you think this role could be for you, then we ask that you apply by submitting an up-to-date CV that details your previous roles and the responsibilities that came with it. Should we and the school consider you suitable for the role, then you will be asked into the school for an interview and trial morning/afternoon in the next fortnight.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
