Location: Streatham, South London
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time (until end of academic year — July 2026)

We’re looking for a confident, creative Year 2 teacher who wants to step into a full-time classroom from January 2026 and help shape the second half of the year: building on progress, preparing children for assessments with calm confidence, and making learning joyful every day.

The role

  • Plan and teach engaging, differentiated lessons across the full Year 2 curriculum.
  • Use assessment (formative and summative) to close gaps and accelerate progress in reading, writing and maths.
  • Lead classroom routines that promote independence, curiosity and resilience.
  • Work with teaching assistants, phase colleagues and school leaders to create a consistent, nurturing learning environment.
  • Prepare pupils for end-of-year assessments with targeted interventions and confidence-building approaches.
  • Contribute to displays, school events and an active classroom life that children, parents and staff are proud of.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and solid experience in KS1 (Year 2 experience preferred).
  • A teacher who plans with purpose, assesses thoughtfully and adapts lessons so every child makes progress.
  • Strong behaviour management and the ability to create a calm, joyful classroom.
  • A collaborative spirit — you’ll work closely with colleagues and contribute to whole-school life.

What we offer

  • A friendly, supportive staff team and approachable senior leadership.
  • A chance to make a measurable difference
  • Practical resources and TAs who know the class and will support your planning and delivery.
  • Competitive pay in line with experience.
