Year 1 Teacher Required After Easter

Location: Wakefield, WF4

Contract: Full-time

Salary: 130-180 per day

Reports to: Headteacher/KS1 Coordinator

Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to create an engaging, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum.

• Support pupils’ academic and social development through creative teaching.

• Assess progress and provide feedback to students and parents.

• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

• Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.

• Ensure pupil safety and well-being, following safeguarding policies.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• Passion for inspiring young learners.

Desirable:

• Experience with phonics programs (e.g., Read Write Inc., Jolly Phonics).

• Knowledge of differentiation strategies and SEN support.
