Year 1 Teacher – Warrington (WA5)

Start Date: After October half-term
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: Pay-To-Scale (dependent on experience and qualifications)

A warm and nurturing primary school in Warrington (WA5) is looking for a Year 1 Teacher to join their friendly team after October half-term. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children make the important transition from the Early Years into Key Stage 1, fostering a love of learning and building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (Year 1 experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Brings energy, creativity, and warmth to their teaching.
  • Understands the importance of early phonics, reading, and number development.
  • Is patient, reflective, and committed to helping every child reach their potential.
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to apply).

About the Role:

  • Deliver creative, engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and independence.
  • Support pupils as they move from play-based to more structured learning, ensuring smooth academic progress.
  • Use continuous assessment to track pupil progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
  • Create a classroom environment that is calm, positive, and full of encouragement.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other colleagues to ensure every child feels valued and supported.
