Year 1 and 2 Class Teacher

Primary School in Blackburn

Whole class teacher role

Full time position

 

The Role

The Headteacher of a primary school in Blackburn is keen to secure an enthusiastic key stage 1 teacher to join their hardworking team in order to work in a mixed year 1 and 2 class. You would be teaching a class made of (11) year 1 and (17) year 2 pupils therefore you need sound knowledge of the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum. The role is available on a full time basis and is to start after Easter until the end of the academic year. The majority of these children are working towards age related expectation. You would have a full time experienced teaching assistant in the classroom. The teaching assistant currently plans and delivers small group intervention to fill the gaps in preparation for the end of year SATs.

The School

The school is located in Blackburn and the children who attend the school arrive from various backgrounds. The pupils at the school are known for their good behaviour and the lessons are always well organised and cater to all of the pupils individual needs. The Head Teacher has commented that they want to employ a candidate with a proven track record of raising attainment. You must also be able to create a purposeful and engaging learning environment and form good relationships with children, parents/carers and staff.

 

Job Type: Full time

Rate of pay: GBP95- GBP135 per day

Start date: Monday 20thApril 2020

End date: Friday 17th July 2020

-          QTS qualification or equivalent

-          Experience with SATs preparation and the teaching of Phonics (Phases 3-5)

-          National Curriculum knowledge

-          Recent experience working alongside children in Key Stage1

-          A hard-working and committed attitude to raising standards in the class room.
