Year 4 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: South Liverpool (L25)
Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.00 per hour (DOE)
Start Date: October 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a child on a 1:1 basis within a Year 4 classroom at a welcoming primary school in South Liverpool.
This is a rewarding long-term opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive within the school environment.
The Role
- Providing 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil throughout the school day
- Assisting with learning activities and classroom engagement
- Supporting the child's medical needs in line with school policies and training provided
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, parents, and external professionals
- Encouraging the child's independence, confidence, and social development
Requirements
- Previous medical experience is essential, ideally supporting children in a healthcare, educational, or care setting
- Experience working with primary-aged children is highly desirable
- Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow care plans and medical guidance accurately
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

The school is located in South Liverpool (L25) and is easily accessible from surrounding areas including Woolton, Belle Vale, Gateacre, Halewood, Huyton, and Prescot. There are regular bus routes serving the area and convenient road links via the M62 and A562, making this a straightforward commute for candidates across Liverpool and Knowsley.
