Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for a Welsh medium Teaching Assistant to go into a fantastic school in the Carmarthen area. We need a confident individual who is able to support the teacher in conducting lessons through the medium of Welsh.

Earn £54 - £60 per day in a rewarding and fulfilling role.

Typical duties

  • Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups
  • Assisting students in improving their Welsh and English
  • Utilising your skills to assist students who may be struggling with the curriculum
  • Working closely with the teacher to ensure that your time and energy is best spent in a way that optimises learning for the class.

  • To provide a bilingual education that will enable all pupils to achieve an equal proficiency in both Welsh and English;
  • To ensure that everyone works towards enabling all pupils to achieve their full potential in the Basic Skills of Literacy, Numeracy and Information, Technology and Communication;
  • To provide a happy, safe and stimulating learning environment;
  • To encourage the children to take pride in their work and behaviour, and to aim for excellence according to their talent and maturity;
  • To develop Welsh as a medium for communicating (both educational and social);
  • To enable each child to develop his/her own cultural identity, whilst also promoting an understanding and respect for other cultures;
  • To provide a close and open atmosphere that includes parents and the wider community
