Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Pontypool Area
Are you a Welsh speaker living in or around Pontypool? We have an exciting opportunity for you! Teaching Personnel is looking for a confident, motivated individual to join local schools as a Teaching Assistant. No prior experience? No problem! You’ll receive all the training you need while on the job. If you're passionate about education and eager to make a difference, this role could be perfect for you. You’ll be supporting both students and teaching staff, helping create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Salary: £12.90 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow the school’s safeguarding policies to ensure a safe learning environment.
- Create and maintain a positive, encouraging atmosphere that supports student development.
- Be flexible and responsive to the varying needs of students.
- Assist teachers and staff with daily classroom tasks and educational activities.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with students and their families, offering emotional and social support where needed.
Training and Development:
As part of the role, you’ll be enrolled in a Level 2 Child Safeguarding course through Teaching Personnel before starting. Plus, you'll have access to numerous ongoing professional development opportunities, often at no cost or at a discounted rate.
Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (we’ll help you with the process)
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- Two professional references from the past 24 months
- Level 2 Safeguarding (provided by us)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
