Are you a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for supporting children in their early primary education?

We are currently seeking a caring and enthusiastic Welsh-speaking KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Barry from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with young learners in Key Stage 1, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development through the medium of Welsh in a nurturing and engaging classroom environment.

This role is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates, childcare practitioners, or individuals looking to begin a rewarding career in education—particularly those with an interest in early years and primary learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
• Providing one-to-one and small group support for KS1 pupils
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and phonics sessions
• Promoting Welsh language development through everyday interaction
• Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and communication skills
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
