Teaching Assistant
Job description
Are you passionate about supporting children in the classroom and helping them reach their full potential? We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming primary school in Barry.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting both academic and emotional development.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils across Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2
- Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
- Providing targeted support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
- Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom engagement
- Helping create a safe and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young people
- A patient, caring, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience supporting ALN pupils is desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
