This is a full-time position supporting a mix of mainstream pupils and those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a broad range of classroom and SEN support skills.

You will play a vital role in helping pupils access the curriculum, build confidence in their learning, and maintain positive engagement throughout the school day.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning in literacy and numeracy
  • Provide targeted 1:1 support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet a range of abilities
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour, and social interaction
  • Assist in creating a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Help monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Support classroom routines, transitions, and day-to-day organisation

About the School

The school is known for its inclusive ethos and strong focus on pupil wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively to ensure all learners—regardless of ability—are supported to achieve their full potential.

You will be joining a supportive team where Teaching Assistants are highly valued and play an integral role in the classroom. The school promotes positive behaviour, strong relationships, and a child-centred approach to learning.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, supportive, and enthusiastic about working with children
  • Confident supporting both mainstream learners and pupils with ALN
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Adaptable and proactive in responding to classroom needs
  • Passionate about helping children succeed academically and socially

Previous experience working with children, in education, care, youth work, or similar settings is desirable but not essential.

Ideal for Candidates Who

  • Are considering a career in teaching or educational psychology
