Wellbeing Hub Mentor
Secondary School – Caerphilly
Location: Blackwood.
Start Date: Monday 9th September 2024.
Hours: Monday to Friday (08:30am-15:00pm).
Pay: £13 per hour.
A unique opportunity has arisen in a lovely secondary school in the Caerphilly area to work within the wellbeing hub. This hub is for pupils who need to escape the daily challenges of mainstream classes. This hub is a small and quiet area for pupils to unwind, relax and eventually be reintegrated back into classes.
About you:
- Patient, caring and compassionate individual.
- Experience in a personal or professional capacity working with children.
- Organised and able to work independently.
- An understanding of behavioural needs and additional learning needs.
- Passionate about working in an educational setting.
- Basic IT skills and able to work with Microsoft Office.
About the role:
- Based in a hub for pupils to come into if they’re struggling in mainstream classes.
- Within the hub there’s a maximum of 15 pupils in there at a time.
- Assisting pupils with mental health and anxiety needs.
- Having a chat with pupils, doing school work with them and tasks to calm them down and regulate them.
- Pupils within the hub could have behavioural needs or additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia etc.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
