Youth Mental Health Support Worker – Nurture Provision for KS3 & KS4

Location: Caerphilly

Start date: 7th of September 2026

Schedule: Monday - Friday / 08:30-15:00 / Term time only

Are you passionate about making a real difference in young lives? Join our warm, nurturing provision—separate from a mainstream secondary school—where every day is about supporting pupils to thrive. We work with KS3 and KS4 students, teaching a mixture of the primary curriculum to meet the needs of children with additional learning needs (ALN) and trauma.

This isn’t just a support role—it’s about building trust, offering stability, and helping young people flourish in a safe, supportive environment.

About the School

You’ll be joining a lively, inclusive secondary school in Caerphilly, full of character and potential. The staff team is welcoming, positive, and always looking for colleagues who can bring structure, motivation, and a bit of healthy competitiveness to the school day.

Your Role

As a Youth Mental Health Support Worker, you’ll combine leadership, mentoring, and classroom control to create a focused, positive learning environment.
Every day is different — but your job is simple: set the tone, keep standards high, and inspire students to achieve.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for pupils with ALN and trauma.
  • Help create a nurturing and inclusive environment for learning.
  • Work alongside our dedicated staff to implement bespoke learning plans.
  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and help them develop coping skills.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (support available if needed).
  • EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration – we’ll guide you through the process if you’re not yet registered.
  • Two recent references from employers or relevant roles.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

  • Professional Development: TeamTeach, Cover Supervisor, and Thrive training available during half-term breaks.
  • Rewarding Environment: Work in a supportive, caring team dedicated to helping children succeed.
  • Make a Difference: Be part of a provision that truly prioritises the wellbeing and growth of every child.

If you’re ready to start 2026 making a positive impact, we want to hear from you! Join us and be a key part of helping young people thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.

Apply today and bring your compassion, commitment, and energy to our amazing team!
