Vocational Studies Teacher (Post-16) – Exeter
Location: Eat That Frog, Exeter (with some travel to other local centres)
Pay: £120 – £140 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
The Role
Teaching Personnel are seeking a Vocational Studies Teacher / Mentor to join the Post-16 team at Eat That Frog in Exeter. This role is suited to a qualified teacher or experienced instructor who is passionate about supporting young people, particularly those with SEND or who may have struggled in mainstream education. You will deliver engaging lessons, mentor instructors and support staff, and create a positive, supportive learning environment that helps learners achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in vocational subjects (dependent on your expertise and qualifications).

Mentor and support instructors and learning support assistants in lesson planning and delivery.

Plan and deliver creative lessons, embedding English, maths and ICT into all sessions.

Support learners with SEND, contribute to EHCP reviews, and implement tailored learning plans.

Build strong relationships with parents, carers, employers and partner agencies.

Provide pastoral support and develop learners’ confidence, independence and employability skills.

Organise and support work experience, trips, visits and community projects.

Keep accurate records, reports and safeguarding documentation.
About You
-
Qualified Teacher (DET / DTLLS / PGCE or equivalent) OR experienced Post-16 instructor with vocational expertise.

Experience working with young people, ideally including those with SEND.

Strong behaviour management and mentoring skills.

Ability to plan engaging, inclusive lessons and inspire learners.

Flexible, resilient and motivated with excellent communication skills.
This role requires an enhanced DBS check and commitment to safeguarding.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
