Cardiff, South Wales
Full-Time & Part-Time Available (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
£90 - £100 per day
1st of September 2025 – July 2026

About the Role:

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We’re looking for enthusiastic, caring, and reliable individuals to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Cardiff as a Unqualified Teaching Assistant. Whether you're looking to begin your career in education or bring existing experience into a new environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of learners aged 11–18.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored support to students with various special educational needs.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support during lessons and activities.
  • Help maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom activities and resources.
  • Foster confidence, independence, and a positive learning environment.

The School:

  • The school caters to children and young people aged 11-18 with a wide range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • The school is committed to providing a child-centred, empowering, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Learning approaches include sensory activities, practical lessons, and structured individual development plans.

What We’re Looking For:

  • No formal qualifications required, but experience in a similar role or working with children is preferred.
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to travel to Cardiff and be available during school hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM).

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (We can help you apply!)
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration (We can help you apply!)
  • Two references from previous employers or relevant roles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
