Unqualified Teaching Assistant
Location: Cardiff
Full-Time & Part-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
£89.38 per day (£13.75 per hour)
Start Date: ASAP

We’re currently recruiting Unqualified Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) at a welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Cardiff. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.
What You’ll Be Doing:
-
Supporting teachers in delivering adapted lessons to meet students’ individual needs
-
Working 1:1 or in small groups with pupils who require additional support
-
Promoting a calm, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
-
Helping students with their social skills, emotional regulation, and behavioural development
-
Preparing classroom materials and assisting in lesson planning
-
Encouraging independence and boosting student confidence
About the School:
-
Supports learners aged 3–19 with a variety of ALN
-
Small class sizes (typically no more than 10 students) with a high staff-to-student ratio
-
Child-centred approach, combining sensory-based and practical learning strategies
-
A nurturing and positive environment where every student’s needs are prioritised
Who We’re Looking For:
-
No formal teaching qualifications required
-
Experience working with children or young people is highly desirable
-
Compassionate, patient, and adaptable individuals
-
Strong teamwork and communication skills
-
A real interest in supporting learners with ALN
-
Reliable and available during school hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM) in the Cardiff area

Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – support available

Able to provide two recent references covering the last 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
