Location: Blackwood, South Wales
Pay Rate: £89.38 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full Academic Year
About the Role

Teaching Personnel is working with a welcoming secondary school in Blackwood area to recruit an Unqualified Teaching Assistant.
The role includes supporting students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and social, emotional, or behavioural challenges through the school’s Specialist Resource Base (SRB). You’ll deliver 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils develop coping strategies and achieve academic and emotional progress. Experience in SEN or behaviour support is an advantage.

We’re looking for someone who can bring:
- Previous experience in working with young people—such as care, youth work, or coaching
- A positive, caring, and proactive approach to supporting young people
- The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Great communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A willingness to learn and grow within a school environment
- Support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and other challenges
Requirements
Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- At least two professional references covering 24 months
