Bargoed, Caerphilly
Monday – Friday | 08:30 – 15:00
Term-Time Only | Start Date: 12th January 2026
£90 per day with pay increase in April 2026

We’re partnering with a dedicated Pupil Referral Unit in Bargoed, Caerphilly, to recruit a compassionate and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant. What You’ll Be Doing

Providing 1:1 and small-group support for learners aged 11–18.

Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Working closely with teachers to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences.

Encouraging positive behaviour using consistent, supportive strategies.

Offering tailored support to students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including:

ASD
-
ADHD
-
Dyslexia
-
Social, emotional & mental health challenges

Who We’re Looking For
You don’t need to come from a traditional education background—what matters most is empathy, resilience, and the ability to build positive relationships.
We welcome applicants with experience in:

Behaviour support, ALN/SEBD roles
-
Youth work, mentoring, community roles
-
Support work, care work
-
Sports coaching (football, rugby, boxing, etc.)
-
Police, prison service, armed forces or cadets
-
Teaching assistant roles or similar
You should be:

Confident using positive behaviour strategies
-
Calm, patient, and able to motivate young people
-
Passionate about helping students succeed—both academically and emotionally

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
