Unqualified Teaching Assistant – Secondary Schools

Short‑term & Long‑term Placements | Teaching Agency

We are currently recruiting Unqualified Teaching Assistants to work across secondary schools through a leading teaching agency. This role offers a combination of short‑term and long‑term placements, giving you the opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience in a range of school environments.

This position is ideal for someone looking to start a career in education, gain hands‑on school experience, or make a meaningful career change into a rewarding role supporting young people.

The Role:

  • Supporting teachers and pupils within secondary school classrooms
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with students who may need additional academic or pastoral support
  • Assisting with classroom behaviour management and lesson engagement
  • Supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs where required
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous classroom or school experience is highly beneficial but not essential
  • A genuine interest in working with secondary‑age students
  • A positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young people
  • Experience in education, care, youth work, coaching, or similar fields is welcomed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
