The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a vital role in helping pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students in lessons on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEN
- Promoting student engagement, confidence, and independence
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver tailored support
- Supporting classroom behaviour management and learning activities
- Helping students overcome barriers to learning
- Encouraging positive relationships and wellbeing throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about supporting young people in education
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable
- Confident working with secondary-aged students
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Experienced in education, youth work, care, mentoring, coaching, or SEN support (desirable but not essential)
- Looking for a rewarding role within a secondary school setting
