Our client secondary school situated in Barnsley are looking to recruit a teaching assistant to start with them in September. The successful teaching assistant is required for the whole academic year on a school based contract. The role of the teaching assistant will be to support in a variety of capacities within the school including supporting students in lessons, assisting any students who are identified as having SEN and supporting those who have English as an additional language. There will also be an element of covering lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher as a cover supervisor.
This role will suit an individual with prior experience of supporting within a secondary school environment as a teaching assistant, behaviour mentor, learner mentor or cover supervisor.
Highlights of this teaching assistant role:
- Full time teaching assistant required
- Pay will range between £1200 - £1400 per month
- 1 year fixed term contract for the successful teaching assistant
- Support across a variety of areas including as a teaching assistant and cover supervisor

The school is located in the Barnsley area close to the central local train stations making it very easy to get to for any teaching assistants travelling by public transport. The school also has a fully secure car park on site for use by all staff. The school is housed in a brand new building with the most state of the art facilities.
The school are looking ahead to the new academic year and are keen to recruit a confident, motivated all round teaching assistant that is looking to work in a supportive secondary school. This role is a great opportunity for a former teaching assistant looking for more responsibility or a youth worker who has limited experience supporting students.
