 Location: Newport
 Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
 Start Date: ASAP
 Daily Pay: £110 – £120

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Unqualified Teacher (also known as a Cover Supervisor) to join a thriving secondary school in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience with pupils aged 11–16.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You’ll be responsible for delivering pre-set lesson plans, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting students in their learning journey.

This position is ideal for:

  • Graduates considering a career in teaching.
  • Individuals with experience in youth work, coaching, or tutoring.
  • Anyone looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and follow provided lesson plans
  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
  • Ensure student behaviour aligns with school policies
  • Provide guidance and support to students during lessons
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents when required

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
  • Two recent professional references
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (or willing to register)
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training (free training provided by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
