Tutors required in the Lancashire area!
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel have a lot of roles available at the moment providing tuition for pupils who are out of School for a number of reasons. Generally speaking, pupils are being tutored off the Schools site due to their behaviour, their mental health or because they are awaiting a school placement! The pupils are generally aged between 10 - 17 years of age, however, occasionally tuition will be required for younger pupils.
To be considered for these roles you need to have:
- Experience working with pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Experience working with pupils who are disengaged with education
- Experience working with pupils who display challenging behaviours
- A basic understanding of the UK curriculum
- Ideally hold a Teaching qualification OR have experience as a HLTA/Cover Supervisor
Tuition roles tend to suit candidates who either have part time availability, are looking to step down from full classroom teaching or looking to step up from working as a Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor. We get tuition roles cropping up all over Lancashire, but often the tuition roles tend to crop up in; Lancaster, Blackpool, Blackburn, Preston, Leyland and Burnley.
Your general role as a Tutor would include the following;
- Planning and preparing work for the pupil
- Building a relationship with the pupil you are tutoring
- Being flexible with working hours as pupils may need specific hours
- Working closely with the School, myself and the staff that support the pupil
If this role sounds ideal for you please do not hesitate to contact Kirsten on 01772 842155 or email your CV and covering letter
